A British startup has designed a carbon-fibre sailboat that uses wind energy to create its own hydrogen. The breeze drives a turbine to produce electricity, which then divides water into hydrogen and oxygen. This technology could be used to refuel ships powered by the gas, or generate energy for ports in a decarbonised world.

Pictures taken by NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope have captured galaxies more than 13 billion years old. The extraordinary images display blue and red lights, which are distant stars and galaxies, respectively.
