Sustainability Spotlight
This week, the government has announced plans for the phasing out of petrol and diesel vehicles. By 2028, more than half of all new cars sold in the UK must be fully electric. Last month alone, more electric cars were sold than in the whole of 2019 as sales rose by 79%. There is record-breaking demand for sustainable modes of transport and now is the time to capitalise on this and challenge the climate crisis.
The global AI artist
The robot, Ai-Da, has become the world’s first “ultra-realistic humanoid robot” to paint as artists have done for centuries. Later this month, Ai-Da is even attending her solo exhibition at the Venice Biennale as its first-ever robotic artist. What does this mean for the future of art?
Metaverse adventure
Epic Games and Lego have joined together to form the latest vision of the Metaverse – an exciting virtual space aimed at children. Details are limited on what this virtual universe might look like, but could this mark a new era in children’s entertainment?
The future of eyecare
This week, CHEC, a Sapience client, announced a partnership with the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) to ensure those who are diagnosed with sight loss are given practical and emotional support. The announcement appeared in The Optician, a leading title in the world of ophthalmology.

Sapience’s favourite
This week, the RSPB announced that Greenfinch and Jay populations in the UK are showing signs of recovery, all with a little help from “citizen science”. Not only have bird enthusiasts been helping scientists record data, but garden owners also have been helping to stop the transmission of an infection that is spread through contaminated food and water.
