Sapience was proud to have hosted its first healthtech panel “Trends and insights: unlocking the potential of healthtech in the UK” in 2024. We hosted this panel alongside our client Charac – the pharmacy app helping community pharmacies to digitise their services, improving healthcare access and outcomes for patients.
Santosh Sahu, CEO and Founder of Charac, was joined on the panel by Alexandra Martinez, Co-founder and Chief Visionary Officer of Clota Varde; and Andrew Davies, Digital Health Lead of the Association of British Healthtech Industries. A special thanks goes to Kai Nichol-Schwarz, a UK tech and healthtech reporter at Sifted, for moderating the conference.
The event was attended by around 20 select guests from British healthtech companies and venture capital firms. Panellists delved into topics such as patient needs, the importance of investment in healthtech for stimulating sector growth, and healthtech integration within the NHS.
The panellists discussed the need for a more integrated digital ecosystem for the NHS to support healthtech growth, as well as the need for a more open regulatory environment to stimulate investment in healthtech. Additionally, the panel highlighted the importance of consumer adoption in the transformation of healthtech – noting that when healthtechs are considering how they bring their offerings to the community, the patient experience must stay top of mind.
“It was a pleasure to host our first healthtech event alongside Santosh and the rest of the Charac team,” said Richard Morgan Evans, CEO of Sapience. “Watching leaders in the burgeoning UK healthtech industry debate how to encourage sector growth, as well as conversing with representatives from other healthtechs and VCs, was a truly stimulating experience that showcased the potential for innovation in the UK. This event aligns with our mission to position our healthtech clients at the forefront of British innovation, and we look forward to building on Charac’s successes over the following years.”
