Sustainability Spotlight

Could beavers be the latest solution to Britain’s fight against ecosystem decline and flooding? Playing mind games

Researchers have grown human brain cells in a lab using stem cells and mouse embryos that have now learned to play the 1970s tennis-like video game, Pong. This research might eventually be used to test treatments for Alzheimer’s.

Fancy a game?

No brainer

Researchers have transplanted human neurons into rat brains to shed fresh light on debilitating neurological and psychiatric disorders such as epilepsy and schizophrenia. This also allows the impact of medication and drugs to be studied in real-time.
