Save The Spot

Nonprofit Organisation

Objective

Save the Spot, a ground-breaking not-for-profit aimed at supporting cultural institutions affected by the war in Ukraine, hoped to secure profile for their innovative “ticket-purchase” donation initiative.

Operating in a news agenda around Ukraine dominated by geopolitical and economic considerations, the challenge was to ensure that protecting Ukrainian cultural identity was not forgotten.

Activity

Sapience took a spokesperson-led approach to media activity, allowing Save the Spot’s founder to articulate the organisation’s mission and value in her own words across national, arts and London-based press.

Thought leadership arguing for the importance of preserving Ukrainian culture and national identity as part of the international support effort also complemented these opportunities.

Sapience also pursued potential partnership opportunities for Save the Spot, approaching major cultural icons within the UK and ticketing agencies.

Outcome

Awareness of Save the Spot’s initiative was significantly increased across the broader arts and public realms to drive donations.

Website traffic to Save the Spot’s website spiked around key media moments, driving increased engagement with donation platform.

Respect and trust in Save the Spot and founder was established by growing relationships with key national and specialist press to drive further media engagement.
